1970 – what a year, right?
Dubai Sevens Live stream here - it's free ( Need Age verify )
It was the year The Beatles broke up (sob), Mariah Carey was born and the Boeing 747 made its first commercial passenger trip from New York to London.
Oh, and let’s not forget the Dubai Rugby 7s.
The long-running tournament kicked off back in 1970 – even before the formation of the UAE in 1971 – and 50 years later it’s now one of the biggest events in the city’s social calendar every year.
And in honour of the big 5-0, the long-running tournament has launched a new VIP experience, also known as “Studio 50”, so get ready to step back in time to the ’70s across the weekend in December.
The experience includes brekkie, lunch, afternoon tea and a barbecue (you won’t be going hungry, that’s for sure), free-flowing drinks, parking, dedicated seats in the VIP stand, access to the Rugby Village as well as the Kylie Minogue concert.
Oh, and a big disco ball dancefloor and boogie-worthy tunes. Far out.
Tickets are available for both Friday December 6 and Saturday December 7 start from Dhs2,500 per person, with deals available for group bookings – click here to get yours now.
